Since many years, I have had for the Horse a great admiration (for it’s nobility, it’s movement, for the services given to man kind, it’s beauty and elegance, etc). During my stay in India I visited various villages in the South and I was surprised to see enormous horses 2 or 3 meters high, at the entrance of this villages. They located there to protect the population from the bad spirits. Also at the cemetery I saw hundreds of small horses; each time somebody died, on top of the grave a horse was installed as a protection also from evil spirits.
The horse, as well as everything the Creator has given us as legate, is a powerful transmitter of vibrations and qualities of it’s chivalry (caballerosidad in Spanish). This vibrations have impregnated The Royal Stables which have been settled for many years at the the location where actually we can find the House of Art & Design of Hanne Gundelach.
Due to my Nordic ancestry from the grandfathers of my father’s side, the sea and the boats have been themes frequently expressed in my modelling art and now in the sculpture and ceramic. This symbolises the eternal necessity of Man kind to search for new horizons.
Life has honoured me before the end of this century to present in København (Denmark) a show that I hope will continue to please and make people so fond as in the other Scandinavian countries, of the art that I have elaborated during my 65 years of artistic life.
It’s for me a great pleasure to be able to expose my Art at the Gallery of Hanne Gundelach which has knew how to capture the vibrations of chivalry and to continue offering her affability, her desire to introduce the beauty of the objects so necessary to give joy to the spirit of our homes.
Thank you Hanne for this opportunity you offer me and my family and I hope that the art lover public, will find the joy and good taste given by things made with love and dedication.
